Graduate Laser Production Engineer

We are currently working with a growing Scottish business that has invented, patented, and commercialised the world’s only design for manufacture technique to enable disruptive manufacturers across industries to develop products of the future. The technology has a variety of applications, including medical diagnostics.

The business is expanding rapidly and looking for a Graduate Laser Production Engineer to take responsibility for the on time and in full delivery of component and material processing requirements for internal development and commercial sales.

What you will do: 

· Ensure that all the safety regulations, practices, and procedures are followed

· Accountable for delivering the internal R&D and commercial production requirements

· Escalating issues quickly and working alongside Quality and Manufacturing Engineers to root cause technical issues if they arise and responsible PFMEA

· Carrying out and documenting QC, maintenance, calibration, and updating quality control procedures and standard work instructions

· Ensuring that the output from laser treatment results in a well-controlled, validated and qualified process

· Develop and implement improvement projects with suitable data and justification

Experience and skills required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a Science or Engineering discipline which focussed on laser principles and optics
  • Proficient in a CAD package
