My client is a leading Telecoms Solutions Provider who specialises in the manufacture of Fibre, Blown Fibre Tubing and Ducting systems for the telecoms sector as well as Drainage, Water and Power Sectors. This is a global business based in the Scottish Border with a strong reputation for delivering excellent results to their customers. 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Sales Manager to join the UK Sales team within the business’ Duct Systems product range within the Power Sector. The role involves working closely with customers, distributors, operations and all relevant departments within the business to deliver effective sales and account management in the North England region.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Sales Account Management in conjunction with customer base including distribution partners and contractors.
  • Establish, drive and maintain customer relationships with a focus on maximising and realising sales target.
  • Sales reporting and marketing activities.
  • Technical field support and new business development. 

Experience (Desirable)

  • Experience within an external sales role.
  • Knowledge of the UK civils market place and customer base, preferably within the Power or Telecom sectors.
  • Demonstrable ability to effectively manage a simultaneous range of diverse activities.
  • A practical level headed individual with strong sales and account management ability.
  • A structured approach to problem solving based on the utilisation of data.
  • Demonstrable experience working closely with customers.
  • Full Drivers Licence.

Operations Factory Manager

The Operations /Factory Manager will have a demonstrable track record of achievement and ideally be familiar/experienced in manufacturing of products similar in nature to the process of extrusion. Ideally the Operations /Factory Manager should have had some experience of P&L, budget control, manufacturing performance, new product introduction/design and costing. This position would also suit an ambitious and capable middle manager who is ready to take the next step.

The Operations /Factory Manager will take a senior position at the main facility in the Scottish Borders with the responsibility to lead and develop a close team whilst ensuring the company's products are the best in the industry.

The Operations / Factory Manager's Key responsibilities include

  • Managing daily operations within the Factory.
  • Improve efficiency and effectiveness of production operations.
  • Implementing new procedures/products.
  • P&L/Product costing responsibility.
  • Staff management and development.
  • Training new employees.
  • Developing new business opportunities/products.
  • Ensuring KPI and Revenue targets are met.
  • Reporting.
  • Any other ad hoc duties.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and ensure communications with customers (internal/external) are of the highest standard.

Key skills

  • Managing people in a production environment of reasonable scale (£25million +).
  • Lean or Six Sigma experience would be advantageous.
  • Leadership and team work skills.
  • Ability to communicate with customers and all levels of staff in a professional and responsive manner.
  • Ability to develop and implement new procedures and products with good understanding of manufacturing costing.
  • Problem solving and conflict management skills.
  • Negotiation skills and ability to build relationships

Head of Manufacturing Operations

An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a Head of Operations within a leading Contract Development and GMP Manufacturing Organisation in the ever-evolving field of Biologics and Regenerative Medicine.

As a commercially structured operation, the company displays considerable ambition in both leading the market and in building an effective physical model to meet the demand that is envisaged.

This Edinburgh-based company operates at the leading edge of therapeutic discovery providing services for companies involved in European and US clinical trials.

This position will be responsible for Process Development (both internal and external), Health and Safety, Facilities and Client Management, as well as delivering on manufacturing in compliance with all necessary regulations and legislation and in line with Good Manufacturing Practice.

This role will be heavily involved in project managing the planned transfer of all manufacturing to a new purpose-built facility whilst also sustaining the delivery of manufacturing commitments with customers.

This individual will be key to the business and its success in striving to achieve the 5-year growth plan that has been mapped out for the company. Subsequently, this opportunity presents significant potential for progression further down the line.


  • An honours degree in a relevant life science or equivalent qualification.

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Extensive experience and a proven track record in a senior operations role, as part of a site or business management team in the Biologics manufacturing industry or related field.
  • GMP experience is essential and good working knowledge of GMP clean rooms.
  • Understanding of biological systems is essential.
